Contrary to general concerns that the international crisis would have a negative impact on Productronica 2009 in Munich and the number of visitors, we were pleasantly surprised about the great response.
We thank our customers and partners as well as the numerous interested visitors of our booth for the constructive project discussions. The success of this fair makes ROMMEL and the entire industry look to the coming year with confidence.

We've done it! The ROMMEL team together with the sales and service team of the Muehlbauer Group moved to the new office in the Shanghai Zhangjiang Industrial Park, the so-called Silicon Valley of China. Together with our technology center in Malaysia, we have positioned ourselves optimally for future requirements of the Asian market.
The ROMMEL GmbH extends a warm welcome to our new colleague Jason Wong. Jason will actively support the sales of all ROMMEL products for the Southeast Asian area from now on.
We are also happy to welcome Greatness Assembly Corporation Ltd. as a new merchant for Thailand. ROMMEL invests in the future!

The ongoing pressure on prices does leave its mark on ROMMEL GmbH. We have reacted by developing a series of machines for marking and traceability tasks which will serve increasingly price-driven markets. These products are developed and manufactured in our plant in Malaysia in large volumes for standardized applications. Users limit their flexibility to be able to utilize the machine for other applications, however, they benefit from a low price. As a matter of course, our ecoline products do not differ from our flexible solutions with regard to quality.

ROMMEL has decoupled the marking process of printed circuit boards from the later assembly process. This is enabled by the integration of a packaging station directly in the marking line. The proven ROMMEL software controls the batches of the PCBs and makes sure that they are marked and packed homogeneously and deposited in the store again. In order to meet the requirements of ergonomics, productivity and flexibility, the packaging process can be integrated manually, semi-automatically or fully automatically.

Our WL 2010 LC, the fastest laser marking machine worldwide, becomes now even better! By means of the new one-shot mode, the time required for the verification of codes is reduced considerably. In addition to this performance increase, it is now possible to teach an unlimited number of fiducials and/or bad or good marks. Geometries which have been taught are saved as image and assist in making the laser process faster and more flexible.

For all ROMMEL marking machines, whether laser or labeling stations, we have issued a new maintenance package. It contains both the preventive exchange of wear parts and an upgrade of the IT architecture. This guarantees a continuous operation with highest availibility.
