Internal changes at Rommel

 

Christian Wachtmeister has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Rommel GmbH.  He possesses significant experience in operational and strategic site management as well as in technical project management. Prior to his first engagement with Mühlbauer AG - the parent company of Rommel GmbH - as a Technical Project Manager, he successfully completed an apprenticeship as an Electrical Engineer, as well as academic studies in Industrial Engineering and Management. As part of the international expansion of the Mühlbauer Group, Mr. Wachtmeister was given the task to found and start-up an entirely new company site in Malaysia in 2006. After a building and ramp-up phase of only six months, he successfully managed the new location until 2010. Despite his returning to the German company headquarters in April 2010, Christian Wachtmeister continues to be responsible for the strategic development of the manufacturing and R&D site in Malaysia.  He currently furthermore heads the project engineering department of Mühlbauer’s business line Semiconductor Related Products and has taken on the position as Managing Director of Rommel GmbH in Ehingen, effective as of July 2011.

 

Also since July 2011, the management of Rommel’s Sales and Service department has been entrusted to Mr. Max Stöhr who assumes this responsibility in addition to his previous tasks. After an apprenticeship as a Toolmaker and positions as a tool- and mold-maker, Mr. Stöhr started his career at Rommel as the deputy head of mechanical manufacturing. Due to his professional expertise - which he acquired amongst others through further trainings as a production manager, safety specialist, quality manager and internal auditor - Mr. Stöhr continued his career at Rommel, taking on further responsibility in positions including head of manufacturing department, head of production management and business organisation. More recently, Max Stöhr headed the areas of material management, production management and project management. With the exception of the production management department, which has been assigned to Mr. Markus Walter, Mr. Stöhr will continue to supervise these areas additionally to his new tasks in Sales and Service. As a result of his great reliability and seniority Mr. Stöhr was granted power of attorney two years ago.
